The Primaries are less than a week away. Remember every election is important. As Americans we have the privilege of choosing our leaders – something most people around the world cannot do. Then US Representative James Garfield in 1877 said, “Now more than ever the people are responsible for the character of their Congress. If that body be ignorant, reckless, and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness, and corruption.”

State Representative Brian Sims should resign because of his willingness to harass and verbally attack those he does not agree with. He is a disgrace to not only the PA legislature, but the entire Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. His recent video is not an apology, and definitely not a promise that he will change. Brian Sims needs to find another job!

Deadline to apply for an absentee ballot is May 14th. The voted ballot must be back in the county election office by close of business on May 17th. There’s no time to waste, if you are unable to make it to the polls on primary election day – May 21st.

The effort to take away voters’ rights to choose judges in PA is on the line. HB 111 is a constitutional amendment that would radically change the way judges are chosen and the voters would have no say in the process. Voters should make that decision, not a commission drawn up by the governor and legislators.
