President Abraham Lincoln’s historic address came during the dedication of Soldiers’ National Cemetery in Gettysburg. Are our Pennsylvania students learning/memorizing these words and the context in which they were spoken? Not likely, but definitely not if PA Core Standards are implemented!!

2.) Michael Farris, Founder and Chairman of the Homeschool Legal Defense Association (HSLDA), is asking for us to set aside November 17th as a special day of prayer for the Romeike family. Remember this is the German homeschool family that came to this country to escape persecution from the German authorities because of their decision to homeschool. They were originally granted temporary asylum by an immigration judge, but the Obama administration appealed that decision and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals reversed the immigration judge’s decision. In Romeike v. Holder, HSLDA is asking the Supreme Court to uphold America as a place of refuge for those who are persecuted for their faith. Michael Farris says, “I feel good about our argument, but we must all recognize that the Supreme Court takes a very limited number of cases—so please pray that the Court will agree to hear our appeal.” Did you know the Supreme Court of Germany declared that the purpose of the German ban on homeschooling was to “counteract the development of religious and philosophically motivated parallel societies”? By the way that law was enacted by Adolph Hitler!
The end of June this year, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law that banned spreading homosexual propaganda to minors. It does not ban homosexual activity, which has been legal since 1993, but bans the indoctrination of minors. Homosexual activists and their allies are expressing outrage that Russia would pass such a law and are especially voicing concern that athletes who identify as homosexual and participate in the upcoming Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia will be arrested. The Russian government has assured them that will not happen.
