AFA of PA ACTION ALERT
August 19, 2024
Issue
Local School Boards and Title IX
Details
As you know the Title IX changes which redefine “sex” to include sexual orientation and gender identity went into effect on August 1st. School boards must now make a decision as to whether to change their Policy 103 in order to adhere to the changes or lose federal funding for non-compliance.
Works sessions may or may not allow public comment according to individual school board rules. However, the public can attend these meetings even though they may not be permitted to speak. Showing up sends a message in itself! Regular sessions are voting sessions and open to public comment. Are you concerned that your school district will be giving its stamp of approval to the radical Title IX changes which open girls bathrooms, locker and shower rooms to boys who identify as girls? If so, then your school board needs to hear from you!
