The Super Bowl and Sex Trafficking

Details

Tales of sex trafficking at the Super Bowl abound, but are they true?  Statistics from the FBI’s law enforcement prove they are true.  Arrests of sex traffickers and  buyers  and the recovery of juvenile victims have taken place during past Super Bowl games.  Even though the number of incidences may have been exaggerated in the past, isn’t it worth the effort to save even one from this death trap and to arrest the traffickers and buyers?

On the other hand the idea of sex trafficking at the Super Bowl is totally denied by groups such as the Sex Workers and Erotic Service Provider Legal, Educational and Research Project.   This group is currently suing California saying the state’s prostitution law violates the constitutional rights of prostitutes and in New Hampshire they are supporting an effort to decriminalize prostitution.  One must ask whether they have a vested interest in denying sex trafficking takes place at the Super Bowl.

Tomorrow Super Bowl 52 will be held in Minneapolis between the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles and there will be traffickers present with young men and women to sell for sex.  Traffickers view it has a ‘great opportunity’ to make lots of money and unfortunately, in this fallen world, they probably will.

Action Steps

Pray for all those enslaved in sex trafficking — not just this Super Bowl weekend, but in the future.  This is something that happens every day in the United States and around the world.

  • That they will be rescued
  • That once rescued they will be placed in a caring recovery facility
  • That those profiting from sex trafficking and buying sex will be brought to justice
