Allentown Wants to Ban Counseling for Minors with Unwanted Same-Sex Attraction

Allentown City Council will be meeting tonight at 6:00 p.m. and they have one thing on their agenda — taking away parental rights! Go to their calendar here and click on “Agenda” after “City Council 7/12/2017.”
Bill No. 40-2017 is designed to take away the parental rights of Allentown residents. If this bill becomes law, parents who have children with unwanted same-sex attraction cannot legally seek counseling for them anywhere within the city limits of Allentown. This is yet another effort by homosexual/transgender activists to force youth who are struggling with unwanted same-sex attraction or questioning their sexuality to embrace the very lifestyle they are seeking to avoid!
Here are some facts to consider and share with city council:
- In 2008 the APA concluded that no one is born ‘gay.’ Numerous studies have come to the same conclusion. No matter how hard activists have tried no ‘gay’ gene has ever been found.
- There are NO (meaning, zero) outcome-based studies on youth who experience unwanted same-sex attractions and seek therapy to resolve their conflicts.
- Efforts are afoot to block youth from being given both the appropriate scientific knowledge and counseling about homosexual and transgender behavior.
- The APA has found that sexual attractions are especially fluid and subject to change during adolescence.
Action Steps
Plan to attend if you can. The meeting is at 6:00 p.m. in council chambers — 435 Hamilton Street in Allentown.
In the meantime, email the Mayor and City Council members to express your concern that they are willing to take away the rights of parents and leave minors trapped and unable to successfully deal with unwanted same-sex attraction. Talk therapy is not abuse, but can help a child work through issues that may be causing their unwanted same-sex attraction or gender confusion.
