Thank FCC Chair Ajit Pai

Details

Repeal of the Obama-era Net Neutrality by the FCC has been in the news a lot recently.  Cries against  repeal have been voiced saying it’s a threat to democracy and the end of the internet is upon us.   Who was pushing for net neutrality?  As Roger Stone notes in a recent Daily Caller article, “The Tech Left, funded largely by George Soros, had decided to champion under the banner of a benign-sounding “Net Neutrality” campaign and seize a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to grab the moral high ground in their determination to allow the giant edge providers to censor the Internet to suit their ideological preferences — ridding the Internet of conservative and libertarian content.”

In that same article it is noted that then FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai said during the 2015 debate over passage of Net Neutrality rules,  “This is not only a radical departure from the bipartisan, market-oriented policies that have served us so well for the last two decades. It is also an about-face from the proposals the FCC made just last May. So why is the FCC changing course? Why is the FCC turning its back on Internet freedom? Is it because we now have evidence that the Internet is not open? No. Is it because we have discovered some problem with our prior interpretation of the law? No. We are flip-flopping for one reason and one reason alone. President Obama told us to do so.”

President Trump nominated Ajit Pai to be chairman of the FCC and under his guidance Net Neutrality was repealed in December — but only after the building was evacuated due to a ‘credible threat.’  Leading up to the December vote and since, Chairman Pai’s  home has been picketed, surrounded by protestors, some lurking under his windows.  He was recently forced to back out of a speech at the Consumer Electronics Show, one of the most important tech events of the year.   At one point, the Pai doorbell rang every half hour “with pizza deliveries that they had not ordered.”  His neighborhood was plastered with fliers of Pai and his vitals. . “‘Is this really the world you want Annabelle and Alexander to inherit,’ read a hand-made sign affixed to a lamppost outside Pai’s residence in November, making a point to emphasize the names of the Pais’ two children. ‘They will come to know the truth: Dad murdered democracy in cold blood,’ read another.”

This from the tolerant left!
