AFA of PA ‘s Naughty or Nice List
Details
The nation’s largest homosexual lobby group, the Human Rights Campaign, has successfully pressured a large number of corporations to side with the homosexual agenda. Many CEO’s of these corporations have signed letters i.e. the one into North Carolina in 2016 condemning the actions of elected officials and, in some cases, threatening to stop planned expansions within the state. These corporations have added ‘sexual orientation and gender identity or expression’ to their HR policies, sponsored ‘gay pride’ events, required LGBT-affirming training for their employees, given health benefits to same-sex couples, expanded healthcare coverage to include ‘sex reassignment’ surgery, etc.
Some of these same corporations recently signed onto an HRC led friend-of-the-court brief opposing Colorado baker Jack Phillips as his case is before the US Supreme Court. You remember, he’s the Christians baker who serves anyone who comes through his door, but does have guidelines as to what he will create. He will not make Halloween cakes, cakes with anti-God or pornographic/vulgar messages on them. In 2012 he told a ‘gay’ couple that he would not bake their ‘wedding’ cake and directed them to a bakery that would. Well, they filed a complaint and the question of whether Jack Phillips can be compelled to create a cake with a message he fundamentally opposes will be decided by the US Supreme Court by June.
Back to the HRC: The primary tool they use to pressure corporations with 500 or more US employees is the Corporate Equality Index where they have certain criteria they use to ‘grade’ the company. One of the ways these companies can lose points is to donate to a pro-family organization! So, the AFA of PA has taken a look at the retailers on HRC’s Corporate Equality Index and came up with our “Christmas Naughty or Nice List.” They may say Merry Christmas this time of year, but we must ask what they do the rest of the year!
Beginning last year Wal-Mart received a 100% score on HRC’s CEI, however on November 9, 2017 they lost that rating. The reason? Turns out employees in a Sam’s Club (owned by Wal-Mart) in North Carolina continued to call a “transgender woman” (a biological male) by male pronouns! The AFA of PA has left Wal-Mart on the enclosed list because they are working to regain the 100% score. In fact a spokeswoman for Wal-Mart, said, “We are proud of our work on LGBTQ [lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer] inclusive and nondiscriminatory policies. We’re disappointed with the HRC’s decision to temporarily suspend our score, which was going to be rated at 100 percent for the second year in a row.”
It’s almost impossible to avoid all the retailers which have received a 100% rating from the HRC, but we ask you to consider limiting your purchases from them this Christmas season.
