Ask Your Congressman to Oppose H Res 124
Details
Recently the Pentagon approved a new transgender policy: “After April 12, no one with gender dysphoria who is taking hormones or has transitioned to another gender will be allowed to enlist. And any currently serving troops diagnosed with gender dysphoria after April 12 will have to serve in their birth gender and will be barred from taking hormones or getting transition surgery.” If service secretaries choose, they can waive the policy on a case-by-case basis.
The memo lays out guidelines for discharging service members based on the new policy. It says a service member can be discharged based on a diagnosis of gender dysphoria if he or she is “unable or unwilling to adhere to all applicable standards, including the standards associated with his or her biological sex, or seeks transition to another gender.”
It was recently revealed that since 2016 taxpayers had forked over almost $8M to military gender reassignment surgeries, hormones, and psychotherapy. Last year it was also revealed that some commanders were spending a lot of time with transgender individuals who were working through medical requirements and other transition issues. That $8M was spent on less than 1,000 transgender service members. Note: the inflated number the activists always use is 15,000 transgenders in the military; this is from the propaganda piece paid for by the Obama administration.
Well, the Left is not happy with the Pentagon’s new policy. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi calls it “cowardly” and Congressman Joe Kennedy III has introduced H Res. 124 “Expressing opposition to banning service in the Armed Forces by openly transgender individuals.”
