Bill to Gut Our Current Law is Introduced

Philadelphia Democrat Malcolm Kenyatta, the current Democrat nominee for Auditor General, has introduced HB 2269 the Marriage Equality Act. This bill would repeal our current marriage law which defends marriage as only between one man and one woman. Remember the US Supreme Court Obergefell decision is just that – a decision! Article III of the US Constitution does not give courts the authority to redefine marriage – but that’s another issue! Check out the 10th Amendment – the states’ rights amendment: “The powers not delegated in the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” The courts have been given too much power and our elected representatives are being undermined by their decisions. The overall question is: Are we living in a representative republic or an oligarchy – rule by a few? Again another issue!
So, PA’s law still defines marriage as only between a man and a woman, but the Left wants to remove that “little obstacle” through the introduction of HB 2269. A similar bill – SB 682 – was introduced in the State Senate last April by Senator Carolyn Comitta and remains in the Senate Judiciary Committee. I don’t believe that bill will go anywhere.
