Thank Representative Metcalfe – What About Your Legislators?
Details
At this point we do not have an update on what the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission (PAHRC) has decided as far as redefining the word ‘sex’ in the PA Human Relations Act and the PA Fair Educational Opportunities Act to mean “sex stereotyping.” This, of course, would be a tactic to circumvent the legislature, which has not changed the law and extend special protections to homosexuals, bisexual, transgenders and those questioning their sexuality!
We do know the PAHRC received at least one legislative letter condemning their efforts. On May 24, State Representative Daryl Metcalfe, Chairman of the House State Government Committee, sent a letter to M. Joel Bolstein, interim chair of the PA Human Relations Commission, listing the reasons the Commission was overstepping its authority to redefine the language in a constitutionally passed law. Reasons included failing to meet the requirements of the Commonwealth Documents Law, the Commonwealth Attorneys Act and the Regulatory Review Act.
