September 27, 2018
Issue
Thank the Mars Area School District Superintendent for Being Patriotic!
Details
First, we want to tell you about an upcoming conference in Reading! The AFA of PA will have a table at “The Future of Christendom” conference which runs from October 5-6 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Reading. Click here for more information. You can also listen to Diane Gramley’s interview with Joel Saint, Executive Director of the Mid-Atlantic Reformation Society. Looks like a great conference, consider attending – the deadline to register is September 30!
September 14th was a home football game at Mars Area High School in Butler County against Penn Hills. Charges were brought by some via a local program that racist remarks were yelled at Penn Hills students where the majority of the student population is African-American and others objected to the overtly patriotic emphasis at the game, also saying it targeted the Penn Hills students.
The school administration has conducted an investigation into the first charge and found no merit to it. Here’s the letter from the superintendent and the board president sent to parents.
State Representative Daryl Metcalfe has issued a statement in support of the students and the “USA” theme of that night.
Action Steps
Why don’t we show support for the school’s patriotic theme! Too many schools have become politically correct and avoid any activities that promote the USA.
Thank Superintendent Wesley Shipley and Board President Dayle Ferguson for taking the non-PC action and standing up for America and for instilling a taste of patriotism into their students.
