Tell Congress to Defund President Obama’s Amnesty

Last night President Obama announced executive action on immigration.  I’m sure the timing — the week before Thanksgiving — was not intentional! Many Congressmen have already returned to their home districts for Thanksgiving.

Here’s some of what he intends:

1.) Give temporary protection from deportation and the opportunity to apply for work permits to more than 4 million illegal aliens

2.) Those who have been in the US for at least five years and are parents of citizens or legal permanent residents can apply.

3.) But not only do the President’s orders allow illegal aliens to stay, they gut future enforcement of our immigration laws. Through policy memos issued last night, the President has unilaterally scrapped Secure Communities, the program that uses fingerprints to identify and remove criminal aliens from state and local jails. He has also — through the rescission of certain Morton Memos — further narrowed Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s enforcement “priorities.” And, his orders clarify that ICE agents will be strictly bound by these new rules.

4.) Other programs will be created and expanded to benefit nearly one million more.

Trying a mass amnesty might have more merit if it had not been tried before.
