This week’s American Family Focus on PA Issues’ guest is Todd Nettleton with Voice of the Martyrs. It will be posted on our website on Friday and the link included in our AFA of PA Weekly E-Newsletter on Saturday.
In the meantime, as all eyes are on China during the Olympics, Voice of the Martyrs is encouraging Christians to pray for believers in China. It is one of many places in the world where it is very dangerous to be a Christian, but China’s 170 million facial recognition cameras pose a great threat. China’s goal is to know every move every one in China makes and if you enter the country they want to know who you are within three seconds!! Can you imagine living in such a country??
Hundreds of churches have been forced to close or simply bulldozed, pastors and church leaders have been imprisoned, the online sale of Bibles has been prohibited. Here is how the Voice of the Martyrs encourages us to pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters in China:
- Pray for pastors and church leaders to stand firmly for biblical truth in spite of government pressure to compromise.
- Pray for the encouragement of Chinese believers and that they will experience unity and fellowship as members of the body of Christ.
- Pray for Christians in prison. Pray for God’s protection over them, for their health and nutrition, and that they will have opportunities to witness for Christ to guards and fellow prisoners.
- Pray for the spread of the gospel among participants in the games and among local, provincial, and national Communist Party Leaders.
- Pray for the safe distribution of Bibles in every part of China.
