Blog Post – So . . .  is abortion behind it all?

The mainstream media is fully supportive of unfettered access to abortion, yet when New York passed a law that allowed a lethal injection up to birth  — legalized third-trimester abortions without medical supervision —  they suddenly treated the issue like a hot potato.   As one scientist who specializes in biomedicine noted, “This is legalized genocide.”  Yet, the mainstream media refused to reveal the full truth about the recently passed New York law, while pro-lifers around the country reacted in horror and disbelief.

Now moving south to Virginia and that legislative body’s attempt to pass a similar law.  The bill was introduced by Delegate Kathy Tran, a Democrat from Northern Virginia, who on the same day introduced a bill to protect caterpillars!

During a subcommittee hearing, she was asked by Delegate Todd Gilbert, “How late in the third trimester could a physician perform an abortion?”   Tran replied that abortions would be permitted through the third trimester.

But Delegate Gilbert got even more specific about the timing of a legal abortion under Tran’s bill and asked even when, ““she has physical signs that she is about to give birth? She’s dilating?” Tran replied, “My bill would allow that, yes.”

Last Wednesday Virginia Governor Ralph Northam endorsed Delegate Tran’s abortion bill.  “When we talk about third-trimester abortions, these are done with the consent of obviously the mother with the consent of the physicians — more than one physician, by the way,” Northam, who is himself a pediatrician, said during a radio interview.

It should be noted here that a summary of the bill contradicts what the governor said during the interview:

  • The bill eliminates all the procedures and processes, including the performance of an ultrasound, required to effect a woman’s informed written consent to the performance of an abortion; however, the bill does not change the requirement that a woman’s informed written consent be first obtained.
  • The bill eliminates the requirement that two other physicians certify that a third trimester abortion is necessary to prevent the woman’s death or impairment of her mental or physical health, as well as the need to find that any such impairment to the woman’s health would be substantial and irremediable.

Things get even more weird after that when Governor Northam said, “And it’s done in cases where there may be severe deformities, there may be a fetus that is nonviable. So in this particular example, if a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen. The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mothers.”

This would be defined as infanticide!   Even the Webster’s Dictionary hasn’t changed that definition yet!!

According to an analysis by NewsBusters, ABC, CBS, NBC News ignored the governor’s comments during both their morning and evening news coverage on Wednesday.  CNN and MSNBC covered it only in the morning; while Fox News covered it throughout the day.

Virginia Governor Ralph Northam exposed abortion for what it is – killing a baby.  The mainstream media ignored that story, but “mysteriously” two days after the radio interview a 1984 yearbook photograph from Eastern Virginia Medical School was unearthed.  One picture showed two figures on Ralph Northam’s yearbook page:  one in a Ku Klux Klan hood and robe and the other in black face.  Northam apologized later that day, but one day later he said he was not in the picture.

Even while the mainstream media ignored the governor’s abortion statements on Wednesday, they quickly (and rightly so) pounced on him for the racist picture that showed up in the yearbook.  Calls for his resignation have come from across the political spectrum.   High-profile Democrats, including announced presidential candidates, former Vice-President Joe Biden, former Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi have called for his resignation.

However, one wonders whether the Virginia Governor is being thrown under the bus because he exposed abortion for what it is  — killing a living baby.  In the past the Democrat party has been tolerant of those accused of domestic violence i.e. now Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison and corruption, as well as accusations of having sex with an underage prostitute i.e. New Jersey US Senator Robert Menendez, The outcry over Governor Ralph Northam’s infanticide statements have been so great from pro-lifers, it appears it had reached a point where the mainstream media was going to be forced to address them.   One hypothesis is that rather than report on the governor’s comments, a diversion was tossed out for the media to latch onto  – the yearbook picture.   As we’ve seen, the infanticide statements have been buried in cries for the governor’s resignation over a 1984 picture.
