Montgomery County Backs Rogue Register of Wills as Moody Downgrades Their Credit Rating

(Harrisburg) — The Democratic majority of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners fully support the illegal actions of Register of Wills Bruce Hanes and have put the county’s money behind his legal defense.    In the meantime, Moody’s Investors Services has changed the county’s bond rating from stable to negative.   The American Family Association of Pennsylvania (AFA of PA), an advocate for one man one woman marriage, contends that perhaps the county commissioners should be more interested in meeting their financial obligations than spending tax dollars in defending illegal actions.

“If Mr. Hanes decides tomorrow that he doesn’t like Pennsylvania laws dealing with probating wills or doesn’t like the inheritance tax, will he also declare those unconstitutional?  Will the two Democratic Montgomery County Commissioners back that decision too?  I doubt it, but they willingly bow to the homosexual lobby instead of doing what’s best  for the majority of county resident’s and the county financial situation,” noted Diane Gramley, president of the AFA of PA.

Last year a Gallup Poll of more than 121,000 people found that only 3.4% of Americans identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender.   This poll found that Pennsylvania — at 2.7% who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender —  is among the ten states with the lowest LGBT population, yet some Pennsylvania politicians are responding to the loud demands of this small group while ignoring the   92.8% who did not identify as LGBT in the poll.  Gallup’s overall percentage is similar to the 3.8% figure released by the Department of Health and Human Services in 2011.

“Hanes, who says he wants to be on ‘the right side of history,’ and the two Democratic county commissioners are shirking their overall duty to their constituents.  They are all wasting tax payer dollars as they pursue their efforts to attack PA’s Defense of Marriage Act rather than meet the county’s existing financial obligations.  The county taxpayers deserve better than that,” Gramley concluded.

Should US Senators be diligent in researching judicial nominees or should they simply rubber stamp them because that’s who the President wants?
