AFA of PA ACTION ALERT

November 2, 2011

Issue

US Senate Poised to Attack the Defense of Marriage Act

Details

On Thursday the US Senate Judiciary Committee will be voting on Senator Dianne Feinstein’s S598 – Respect for Marriage Act.  This bill sounds like a good idea — maybe even promoting the idea of strengthening marriages.  But that’s NOT its intention.  Here’s its purpose:  “To repeal the Defense of Marriage Act and ensure respect for State regulation of marriage.”

Action Steps

1.)  This committee heavily leans left —just take a look at the members.   Pray for Thursday’s vote that it would fail!  A miracle CAN happen!

2.)   No one from Pennsylvania is on the Senate Judiciary Committee; however, contact the Republican members and ask them to stand strong against S598 also contact the chairman, Senator Patrick Leahy and ask him to stop this attack on marriage.
