Testing has become so prevalent for school students ever since No Child Left Behind was signed into law. Even though that law is gone and we now have the Every Student Succeeds Act, the testing remains. Pennsylvania has the PSSA test which are simply assessment test. They do not test the achievement of the student, but instead how well the school is at teaching to the test!! PA takes a whole month out of the year to subject 3-8 grade students to this test!

Yesterday the House and Senate passed the second largest spending bill in US history and today President Trump signed it, after indicating he may veto it. He said he was forced to sign it in order to rebuild the military, but warned Congress that he would never sign such a bill again. Only five US House members from PA voted against it and Senator Casey voted ‘yea,’ while Senator Toomey did not vote.
