Action Alert – Vote in Senate to Defund Planned Parenthood
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has scheduled a late Monday vote on a bill to defund Planned Parenthood. The last time such a vote was taken only 42 votes could be garnered. S 1881 was introduced by Senator Joni Ernst, R-Iowa and quickly had 32 co-sponsors. It will require 60 votes to cut off debate and then a simple majority to pass the bill. Senator Bob Casey, Jr. is one of four Democrats who have not committed one way or the other on the bill.

In February 2015 Cecile Richards, President of Planned Parenthood, noted newly elected Governor Tom Wolf was “the first governor in the history of the country who was also a former Planned Parenthood clinic escort.”

News Release-Governor Wolf Asked to End Ties With Planned Parenthood
Within the past few weeks three videos have been released of Planned Parenthood’s involvement in the procurement and sell of body parts from aborted babies. In 2014 Planned Parenthood PAC endorsed Tom Wolf for PA Governor, donated $1 million, went door to door and make phone calls for his campaign. In February 2015 Cecile Richards, President of Planned Parenthood, noted Tom Wolf was “the first governor in the history of the country who was also a former Planned Parenthood clinic escort.” Apparently even these video, if he has watched them has have not changed Wolf’s relationship with Planned Parenthood as on Friday he named a board member of Planned Parenthood to be his next Chief of Staff. The American Family Association of Pennsylvania (AFA of PA) is calling on Governor Tom Wolf to break his ties with Planned Parenthood.
