Friday, April 17th is the Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network (GLSEN) Gay Day of Silence. This is NOT a day about preventing bullying as GLSEN says; it is a day to send the message throughout the school that “gay is okay.” Students who say otherwise will be harassed and ridiculed. This is a day in which the school house is hijacked by GLSEN and their allies and students are encouraged to remain silent to show support for students who identify as homosexual.
