Action Alert: Parental Rights Amendment Needs Co-sponsors

Remember Justina Pelletier? She’s the 15 year old who was diagnosed with Mitochondrial Disease in 2012. In February 2013 she was taken to Boston’s Children’s Hospital because of the flu. There her diagnosis was replaced with somatoform disorder, a psychiatric condition. When her parents disagreed, Justina was removed from their custody and the next month a judge granted the Department of Children and Families permanent custody of Justina. Her regular medical team nor her parents were able to convince the State of Massachusetts that they were wrong. This nightmare went on for 490 days, while Justina’s physical condition continued to deteriorate. She is now safely home with her parents and under the care of her regular medical team.

Here in the US parents are losing the right to raise their own children.

He complained to an organization of which he is a member — the American Atheist Association — saying, “Many people had taken the religious literature including recruits as well as those beginning the enlistment procedures. I was not approached by anyone with the literature, though it was quite prominently displayed on the shelf.”

Action Alert – Thank This Pastor for Appealing

Rev. Frank Schaefer was the pastor of the Zion United Methodist Church of Iona in Lebanon when, in 2007, he officiated at his son’s same-sex “wedding.” Schaefer said he was answering to a higher law when he agreed to marry his son and his partner. However, this is directly against the United Methodist Church’s Book of Discipline, although they and other denominations are under increased pressure to “change the rules.”

They must not know who the primary targets of the Nazis were anymore than they know the Christian history of the establishment of this nation.

The basic question is does the Constitution give the federal government the authority to intervene in education in any way? Nowhere in Article 1, Section 8 is that power included in the list of powers given to Congress. Article II does not give that power to the Executive nor does Article III give it to the Judiciary.
