Obama Again Equates Homosexuality to Race and Ethnicity
The issuance of President Obama’s most recent executive order adding the words “sexual orientation and gender identity” to two previous executive orders — 11246, signed by President Lyndon Johnson on September 24, 1965 and 11478 signed by President Nixon on August 8, 1969 shows his continued bowing to pressure from homosexual activists and his inability to distinguish between changeable and unchangeable characteristics i.e. race/ethnicity are unchangeable while homosexuality is changeable.
Johnson’s Executive Order 11246 charged the Secretary of Labor, a Cabinet-level official with strong enforcement authority, with the responsibility of ensuring equal opportunity for minorities in federal contractors’ recruitment, hiring, training and other employment practices. Until that time, such efforts had been in the hands of various Presidential committees. EO 11246 continued and reinforced the requirement that federal contractors not discriminate in employment and take affirmative action to ensure equal opportunity based on race, color, religion and national origin. According to the Department of Labor, this impacts about one-fifth of America’s workforce.
Executive Order 11478 covers the federal civilian workforce, including the United States Postal Service and civilian employees of the United States Armed Forces. It prohibited discrimination in employment on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, handicap, and age. It required all departments and agencies to take affirmative steps to promote employment opportunities for those classes it covered. On May 28, 1998, President Bill Clinton signed Executive Order 13087 which amended Executive Order 11478 to add sexual orientation to the list of classes covered.
It is apparent that homosexual, and now transgender activists, will not be content until all Americans are forced to celebrate their lifestyles. Expect more lawsuits as federal contractors and civilians working for the federal government are banned from expressing their religious views on the issues of homosexuality and transgenderism.
