One year ago yesterday Charlie Kirk, Christian husband, father, conservative leader, was felled by an assassin’s bullet. Rather than disappearing, Turning Point USA, the organization Charlie Kirk founded, continues to grow and expand into more campuses and high schools. His message to teens and young adults seeking truth is still resonating. Pray for Charlie’s widow Erika, and now Turning Point USA CEO, as she continues raising their two children as well as leading the national organization.
Today marks a quarter century since the worst terrorist attack on America in our history. Where were you when you first heard the news? Many days of uncertainty followed, questions needed answered and some remain unanswered to this day. President Trump has been urged to declassify some of the government documents from that time period. He is seriously considering such a move.
Rewatching photos, videos and news accounts from that day remind us just how horrific the day was. Planes full of passengers deliberately flown into buildings full of Americans; and heroic effort by the passengers on Flight 93 as they forced the fourth attacking plane down in a field near Shanksville, PA. Over 200 people jumped to their deaths from the Twin Towers to escape the scorching flames. Firefighters and other first responders running into the Twin Towers to try and save as many as possible. While there were many heroes already inside the 110-story tall Twin Towers trying to save their fellow workers. As well, there were many heroes and stories of miracles coming from the Pentagon in Washington, DC. The horror of watching the Twin Towers fall is still almost unbelievable!
Who would have thought in 2001 that within twenty-five years the City of New York would elect a Muslim mayor? How could America’s largest city go from a Mayor Rudy Guliani to a Mayor Zohran Mamdani? As the names of the 2,977 Americans who died on September 11, 2001 were being called off during a 911 commemorative service today at Ground Zero in New York City, that city’s mayor was seen laughing and smiling along with Democrat Socialist US Representative Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez!
Earlier this week, during a 911 commemorative service, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch, standing right next to Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who was sitting motionless and starring blankly, said, “Preserving that history also means preserving its moral clarity. The men who attacked this city were terrorists. The men and women who ran into the towers to save innocent lives were heroes. Twenty-five years cannot be allowed to blur that distinction and shame on those who do.”
