As conservatives try to grasp the reality that a gunman struck down 31 year-old Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, we have to acknowledge this is a Turning Point in our movement.
Charlie Kirk created a conservative movement on high school and college campuses and the Left feared this! They feared that their indoctrination of our nation’s students, our future leaders, would be hindered. They could not stand the idea that 3500 conservative youth organizations exist on high school and college campuses, thanks to the efforts of Charlie Kirk after his creation of Turning Point USA in the summer of 2012.
No, they feared Charlie Kirk, a husband to Erika and father of two children – a one-year-old son and three- year-old daughter. His death leaves a grieving young widow and two very young children who cannot grasp why their daddy will never walk through the door of their home again, as well as Charlie’s parents and other family members. His death leaves millions of grieving Americans, who must not allow this to silence our efforts for faith, family and freedom. If anything, it must embolden us in speaking the truth without fear – something Charlie did very well.

Who would have thought such a thing could have happened in a red state like Utah. Yet, radicals exist in every state in the US. As a nation we have lost our way. We have forgotten our founding principles and Charlie knew it and was more than willing to debate, answer questions, engage with anyone on any topic. His well-articulated arguments and reasoning won over many who were willing to listen and consider what he had to say. This is something the Left refuses to do in today’s political climate.
