Effort to Repeal ‘Year of the Bible” Resolution!

Ultra liberal State Representative Mark Cohen and his fellow Democrat Greg Vitali (this is the guy who in 2006 compared those supporting the PA Marriage Protection Amendment with “those who flew the planes into the World Trade Center on 911”) have introduced a motion for reconsideration of non-binding House Resolution 535 which declares 2012 “The Year of the Bible.”  The resolution passed unanimously on January 28th — meaning Cohen also voted for it, but he says the resolution was, ” buried with a whole bunch of other resolutions at a time when legislators were focused on getting on the ballot and running for re-election.”  Maybe he should read the bill before he votes on it!

Cohen says he has received much negative feedback since the resolution’s passage and that spurred him on to introduce the non-binding motion for reconsideration.  He has actually started a petition in support of his motion which almost 20,000 have already signed.  He acknowledges the signatories are not all Pennsylvanians.
