Obamacare’s State Exchanges — PA In or Out?
Details
Governor Corbett has not officially opted out of setting up a state exchange for Obamacare in Pennsylvania. This map shows that as of November 14th Governor Corbett was still studying his options. This article confirms that.
Earlier this year Governor Corbett requested federal dollars to set up state exchanges. At his point, Pennsylvania has received a $33.8 million Level One grant from the federal Department of Health and Human Services to establish a state based exchange.
Dozens of states have opted out of setting up a state exchange. The states will have to tell the federal government of its plans to set up an exchange by today, Nov. 16, but they’ll have until December 14th to send in a blueprint of the exchange.
Action Steps
Contact Governor Corbett via email at Governor@pa.gov or call at 717-787-2500 and give him this message: “No to Obamacare. No to state exchanges!”
