Issues (check corresponding number in ‘Details’ and ‘Action’ Sections)
1.) DISCLOSE Act Vote Coming
2.) “Out in the Silence”
3.) Truth Academy
1.) Vote on DISCLOSE Act may come as soon as TODAY! This is an effort by the Democrats to pass another campaign finance law since the Supreme Court threw out McCain Feingold earlier this year. As is typical the bill will not address the real problems of campaign finance, but instead will silence pro-family, pro-life, pro-traditional values groups. (Remember the attacks on California businesses when they supported Proposition 8? This is the same except on a national level.) SB 3628 will add rules that require organizations to expose their donors to public scrutiny while providing carve outs and special treatment to select special interest leftist groups.
Additionally, if the DISCLOSE act passes, language in the bill forbids courts to review the law until after the 2010 elections because Democrats know what they are attempting to pass is unconstitutional.
2.) Homosexual activists continue to misrepresent the AFA of PA through their so-called documentary “Out in the Silence” now being shown across the state (mostly via public libraries) as part of their ‘community outreach’ as well as internationally. Although, apparently Brockway and Brookville in Jefferson County have refused to show it! Click here for more information.
3.) Peter LaBarbera, President of Chicago-area based Americans for Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH), is holding his first ever Truth Academy from August 5-7. He has a great line up of speakers for the three day conference. People for the American Way and other homosexual affirming groups have labeled it a “hatefest.”
1.) Contact Senator Arlen Specter and Senator Bob Casey, Jr. and ask them to vote ‘no’ on SB 3628. Click here for contact info.
2.) Pray for Dean Hamer and Joe Wilson the “husband and husband” team who produced this documentary to be used as a tool to further the homosexual agenda.
3.) Pray for Peter and AFTAH. Consider attending this much needed conference. Listen to my February 3rd interview of Peter as we talk about the ‘gay’ agenda.
