AFA of PA ACTION ALERT
May 21, 2019
Issue
Only a Few House Left!
Details
Have you voted yet? Voter turnout is usually very low in an off-year election and this year’s election only holds one statewide race, but we all know every election is important! So, is you haven’t voted yet, you have until 8:00 p.m. to cast your vote for Superior Court, Court of Common Pleas, county commissioners, county executive and county council (if you live in a home rule county), row offices, borough council, township supervisor, school board, etc.
In addition to the “regular” races, there will be four special elections held in certain districts today: 12th Congressional District to replace Congressman Tom Marino, who resigned for health reasons; State Senate Districts 33 and 41 replacing Rich Alloway and Don White, respectively (both retired effective February 28th ); and State House District 11 to replace Brian Ellis.
Voter turnout is critical in all elections, but it is even more so in these off-year elections because conservatives are more likely to stay home, allowing radicals to be voted in by just a small percentage.
