Hershey: Good Candy, Bad Policies!
Details
First let’s talk about ending the 43-day government shutdown: six Democrats bucked their own leadership to help reopen the government: Reps. Jared Golden (Maine), Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (Wash.), Adam Gray (Calif.), Don Davis (N.C.), Henry Cuellar (Texas) and Tom Suozzi (N.Y.).
Notice no Pennsylvania Democrat thought ending this historic shutdown was important!! Remember that next November when they run for re-election!
Now onto Hershey: Hershey has great tasting candy – but not great policies. Their Culture and Diversity page includes the following Business Resource Groups: Latino, Asian and Pacific Islander, Veterans, Women, Black Heritage, Abilities First, GenH Hershey. Oh yes, and there’s also Prism and Amplify Prism (their LGTQ groups). The page also notes several awards they have received, including Equality one hundred from the Human Rights Campaign, recognizing Hershey as a “Leader in LGBTQ + Workplace Inclusion”. Perhaps that could explain why they suspended a Christian worker at MeltSpa by Hershey who cited her religious beliefs when she refused to give a tour of the women’s locker room to a man who identifies as female.
Action Steps:
If you think Hershey should stick to making good candy and not allowing men in their women’s facilities, call The Hershey Company at the 800 number that follows Monday-Friday from 9 AM to 9 PM ET (except holidays). US: 1-800-468-1714 (call or text)
