Ask President Trump to Issue an Executive Order Protecting Religious Freedom

President Trump’s Department of Justice has stopped the effort to appeal Federal Judge Reed O’Connor’s national injunction against the implementation of Obama’s reinterpretation of the word “sex” in Title IX to include “gender identity.” Additionally, last week Obama’s May 13, 2016 “Dear Colleague Letter” to school districts telling them of their reinterpretation of Title IX was rescinded by the Trump Administration. This is good news for privacy in schools!
However, Christians are still awaiting the oft promised executive order protecting religious freedom. The end of January, it was disheartening that President Trump kept Obama’s bad executive order imposing the LGBTQ agenda on federal contractors. The Obama 2014 executive order requires that all organizations that contract with the federal government hire homosexuals, bisexuals and transgenders. There is no religious exemption. It has been reported that President Trump’s daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner helped kill a proposed executive order that would have scrapped the above-mentioned Obama executive order.
President Trump needs to be encouraged to issue his executive order protecting religious freedom ASAP. The rulings against Christians are stacking up. Last week Barronelle Stutzman, owner of Arlene’s Flowers in Richland, WA, lost her case at the Washington Supreme Court. Yesterday the Oregon Supreme Court heard the case of Aaron and Melissa, Klein, former owners of Sweetcakes by Melissa. In these two cases and the others where Christian business owners have been fined, they have all knowingly served customers who identify as homosexual. They simply draw the line at being forced to use their God-given talents to participate in a “gay wedding.”
