AFA of PA ACTION ALERT

August 12, 2013

Issue

1.)  US Senate Voting Record 2013/2014

2.)  Ask Your Congressman to Co-sponsor the Federal Marriage Amendment

Details

1.)  The updated US Senate Voting Record for 2013-2014 is now available on our website.

2.) Shortly after the Supreme Court declared Section 3 of the federal Defense of Marriage Act unconstitutional on June 26th, Representative Tim Huelskamp introduced H.J. Res 51 “A joint resolution proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States related to marriage.”    The amendment would read:  “Marriage in the United States shall consist only of the union of a man and a woman.  Neither this Constitution, nor the constitution of any State, shall be construed to require that marriage or the legal incidents thereof be conferred upon any union other than the union of a man and a woman.”

So far only two Pennsylvania Congressmen have signed on as co-sponsors — Joe Pitts and Bill Shuster.
