Ask Senate Leadership to Bring the In God We Trust Bill Forward
Details
HB 1640 encourages the display of our national motto, “In God We Trust,” in public school buildings across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. By the way, did you know our national motto celebrated its 60th anniversary on July 30, 2016?
On May 2, 2016, HB 1640 passed in the PA House by a vote of 179 to 20! Click here to see how your State Rep voted.
HB 1640 overwhelmingly passed in the Senate Education Committee. The bill needs just one more successful vote to go to Governor Wolf’s desk — a vote before the full Senate and leadership does not seem willing to bring it up for a vote! If it doesn’t happen tomorrow it will ‘die’ and the legislative process will have to begin at square one next session!
