Oppose Bills Protecting Abortion
Details
As you may have already guessed, these bills were all introduced by Democrats. So, let’s take a look at just how pro-baby killing this party is:
Proposed constitutional amendments (remember the exact same language must pass the legislature in two consecutive legislative sessions before the question is brought before the people for a vote.)
HB 1562 – “introducing legislation that would amend the state constitution to establish health care as a human right in Pennsylvania.”
HB 803 – “Bodily autonomy and control over reproductive healthcare are central to individual freedom, liberty, health, and economic opportunity. Decisions about a pregnancy belong to the pregnant person, not their state legislature.”
Bills that have been introduced:
In the State Senate – Abortion Protections Package:
SB 935: “prohibit Pennsylvania courts from cooperating with out-of-state civil and criminal cases involving reproductive healthcare services; prevent officials from other states from arresting individuals in Pennsylvania for an abortion-related crime”
SB 936: “prohibit Pennsylvania courts from enforcing another state’s judgment for a case involving the provision of reproductive healthcare services.”
SB 937: “ instruct our healthcare licensure boards not to take adverse action against providers who offer reproductive healthcare services to out-of-state residents. “
SB 938: “ instruct insurance companies not to take adverse action against providers who offer reproductive healthcare services to out-of-state residents. “
SB 939: “ protect reproductive health care records from disclosure in Pennsylvania civil actions or criminal investigations.”
SB 940: “protect Pennsylvania’s abortion providers’ home addresses from public discovery.”
In the State House –
HB 428: “repeal the entirety of the present Abortion Control Act, replacing it with the Bodily Autonomy Act,”
HB 800: “legislation that will prohibit health plans, healthcare clearinghouses, or healthcare providers in Pennsylvania from disclosing information about a person’s reproductive health services without the patient’s express written consent, or where specifically authorized or required by federal or state law.”
HB 802: “legislation to ensure that nurses are protected from having their license or application for licensure penalized for providing reproductive health services including contraception, emergency contraception, and abortion or abortion-related services to a person who resides in a jurisdiction outside Pennsylvania where such services would be illegal.”
Abortion Protections Package in the State House:
HB 1784: “protect healthcare records related to reproductive services from disclosure in Pennsylvania civil and criminal actions/investigations”
HB 1785: “ instruct insurance companies to not take adverse action against healthcare providers who offer reproductive services to out-of-state residents.”
HB 1786: “prohibit Pennsylvania courts from cooperating with out-of-state civil and criminal cases involving reproductive healthcare services and prevent officials from other states from arresting individuals in Pennsylvania for abortion-related crimes.”
HB 1787: “protect Pennsylvania’s abortion providers from having their home addresses disclosed to the public”
HB 1788: “prohibit Pennsylvania courts from enforcing other states’ judgments in cases involving the provision of reproductive healthcare services.”
HB 1789: “instruct our state’s healthcare licensure boards to not take adverse action against healthcare providers who offer reproductive services to out-of-state residents.”
A co-sponsorship memo is also circulating in the State House that would “amend the parts of Pennsylvania law that prevent coverage of abortions under Commonwealth insurance plans” , clearing the way for taxpayer funded abortions under all circumstances.
