Working to Secure Our Elections

Details

State Senators Michelle Brooks and Kim Ward have introduced a bill to help secure our elections.  Is it enough?  No, but it’s a step in the right direction!

SB 1429 would increase the number of authoritative sources to be used in order to remove the name of a deceased voter.  Currently, it’s up to the PA Department of Health.  In 2020, there were found to be over 21,000 deceased voters still on the rolls.  The bill calls for more rigorous monitoring of address changes and requires the PA Secretary of State to notify counties of illegals who are registered to vote.

The co-sponsorship memo states, “This bill has been carefully developed with input from election officials, legal experts, county leaders, and other stakeholders. It aligns with federal requirements, while providing local officials the tools necessary to meet them.”

Action Steps:

Ask your State Senator to sign on as a co-sponsor of this bill.
