1.) Senate to Resume Consideration of the Employment Non Discrimination Act (ENDA)
2.) Don’t forget to check our Judicial Race Information and vote on Tuesday, November 5th
On Monday the US Senate will resume consideration of and vote on S815 — the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA). Like so many bills in Washington, DC it sounds so good and wholesome, but nothing could be further from the truth!
Passage of this bill would give special protections to homosexuals, bisexuals and transgenders, forcing even Christian employers to hire them or face a fine. It would also have a chilling effect upon the First Amendment rights of those who oppose same-sex marriage and other components of the homosexual agenda. Here are a few examples:
1.) Fiction writer Orson Scott Card was removed from a DC Comic Superman anthology project because he’s a vocal supporter of one man one woman marriage.
2.) Fox Sports announcer Craig James was fired after just one appearance because he answered during a 2011 interview that he believed homosexuality was a choice and those involved would have to answer to the Lord for their actions.
3.) At Yeshiva University in New York City an English professor was granted tenure, less than two weeks later he announced his plan to become a woman. The university reinstated “her” after the sex change operation. One transgender activist said, ” Had Yeshiva University fired her and she was able to prove that this was because of her gender identity, referring to her transformation from male to female, she would have received damages – possibly punitive – for discrimination.”
4.) A similar case occurred at Spring Arbor University, a Christian institution in Michigan. Transgender professor Julie Nemecek (formerly John Nemecek) was fired by the administration and responded by filing a sexual discrimination complaint. The parties agreed on a settlement out of court.
Go to our ACTION CENTER to contact Senator Bob Casey, Jr. and Senator Pat Toomey and ask them to vote “NO” on S815, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act. Also, call their district office nearest you with the same message, that info can be found here.
