AFA of PA ACTION ALERT
April 27, 2022
Remember PA has a closed primary, meaning only Democrats and Republicans can vote for candidates in their party. Here are some important dates:
May 2nd close of business – last day to register to vote or change your party affiliation.
May 10th close of business – last day to apply for an absentee ballot. On May 17th, if you cannot go to your polling place because of illness, disability, or absent from your municipality because of work, you can apply for an absentee ballot. Remember according to the PA Constitution, Article VII, Section 14(a), these are the only reasons you can apply for an absentee ballot. There is no mention of no-excuse mail-in ballots anywhere in the PA Constitution!
Fill out the application and return to your county election office personally or mail it in. Once approved, the county election office will mail the ballot to you. Follow the instructions closely i.e. privacy envelope.
May 17th – all voted and signed absentee ballots must be received by 8:00 p.m. on this day Go to our Voter Guide page for links to the application, county election offices, etc.
Vote on May 17th!! The AFA of PA has created voter guides for the US Senate and Governor’s races. These voter guides are legal for churches to use and designed as two-sided bulletin inserts. Soon we will have information on the Lt. Governor and Congressional races.
The US Senate voter guide can be found here
