Action Alert – Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act in the US Senate

AFA of PA ACTION ALERT

January 29, 2018

Issue

Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act  in the US Senate

Details

Last October the US House passed an identical bill to the one being considered by the US Senate this week — possibly today!    The vote was 237 to 189 with every Pennsylvania Democrat joining  the majority of their fellow party members to vote ‘no.’  PA Republican Congressman Charles Dent was one of only two GOP members to vote ‘no.’

This bill — S 2311–  would ban abortions after 5 months – the age when research proves unborn babies can feel pain.  The US is one of only seven countries that permit abortions at this age.  In fact, the US joins North Korea and China on that list!!   President Trump has said he will sign the bill, if it reaches his desk.

Action Steps

The Senate Democrats are expected to filibuster the bill, thus requiring a 60 vote threshold before the bill can actually move to the floor for an up or down vote.  Contact Senator Bob Casey, Jr. and Senator Pat Toomey and ask them to vote ‘yea’ on S 2311
