1.) It appears that Senator Harry Reid’s description of Senator Ted Cruz’ efforts on defunding Obamacare as a ‘waste of time’ has proven to be incorrect.
2.) Pennsylvania needs a Marriage Protection Amendment and Representative Daryl Metcalfe has introduced a bill ( HB 1349 ) to begin the long process of amending Pennsylvania’s Constitution to define marriage as only between one man and one woman and to ban any substantially equivalent relationship as being recognized as marriage.

Action Alert -Senate Needs to Defund Obamacare

On Friday the House did it — they voted to defund Obamacare and fund the government through mid-December. The bill is now in the US Senate where Harry Reid says it’s DOA. However, Republican Senators Mike Lee and Ted Cruz are doing everything they can to stop the defunding portion of the House-passed bill from being stripped in the Senate. Senator Cruz is even talking of a filibuster. For their willingness to fight to defund Obamacare, they are being attacked by the Senate GOP leadership!

Action Alert: House Votes to Defund Obamacare

Today the US House passed a bill to defund Obamacare, but would keep the government running through mid-December. (Question: Where in the Constitution does it allow for continuing resolutions??) The vote was 230-189 mostly along party lines with one Republican voting ‘nay’ and two Democrats voting ‘aye.’ Also, 13 did not vote including Pennsylvania’s Chaka Fattah and Tim Murphy.

News Release: FCC Nominee Needs to Answer This Question

The President has nominated Michael O’Rielly to be a Commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), however Mr. O’Rielly has yet to address a very important question. The American Family Association of Pennsylvania (AFA of PA) has signed onto a letter to the chairman and members of the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation asking that they ask specific questions of Mr. O’Rielly during today’s confirmation hearing.
