News Release – President Weighs in on Penn State, But Not Spanier Hiring

President Obama recently announced his support for the NCAA sanctions against Penn State, also stating that making sure kids are safe is more important than sports. The American Family Association of Pennsylvania ( AFA of PA) agrees with the President on the need to keep kids safe, but has contacted the President for a further explanation on the federal government’s hiring practices in light of the recent hiring of former Penn State President Graham Spanier, who was also implicated in the Freeh Report for turning a blind eye to the accusations against former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky.

Reports from around the country indicate yesterday was a successful day in showing our appreciation to Chick-fil-A and its President Dan Cathy in his Biblical stand on marriage. A record number of customers were served!

Tomorrow has been designated by former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee as Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day to give us an opportunity to show our support for this Christian-family owned business and the stand its President and Corporate Operating Officer, Dan Cathy, has taken for traditional marriage. He is also the son of founder Truett Cathy.

Last week Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy made the “mistake” of saying he believes marriage should only be between one man and one woman and warned of God’s judgment on America:

“I think we are inviting God’s judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at him and say We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage. I pray God’s mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to define what marriage is about.”
