Is Your Local United Way Still Targeting the Boy Scouts

Details

It is tragic, but not really surprising, that the Boy Scouts continue being targeted. It was not enough that last May, in an effort to appease homosexual activists and their allies, the Boy Scouts voted to allow boys who identify as homosexual. However, the effort to force them to allow homosexual leaders has continued under the radar screen. Read our news release outlining a situation that occurred in the French Creek Boy Scout Council in northwest Pennsylvania.

As of 2014’s start, Lockheed Martin spokesman Johnny Witaker, said “all official, company-sanctioned support,” including “monetary contributions and company-sponsored employee activities with the Scouts like facility tours, on-site Scouting activities and events, service on the Atlanta Council’s executive board, and employee volunteer activities on company time,” will be withdrawn.

This GLAAD article notes Lockheed Martin joins UPS, Merck & Co. Caterpillar, Inc. and local chapters of United Way in this effort to force homosexual leaders on the Boy Scouts.

Action Steps

The AFA of PA has contacted local United Way chapters across the state asking if they are withholding funds from the Boy Scouts until they allow open homosexual leaders. Where does your local United Way stand? Are they one of those chapters that’s withholding funding? Click here to find your local chapter and its contact information. Ask them if they are still providing funds to the Boy Scouts or are they trying to force the Scouts to permit homosexual leaders?
