Is the Day of Silence at Your Child’s School
Details
Friday, April 15th is not only tax day this year, but also the National Gay Day of Silence when the Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network (GLSEN) ‘encourages’ students to remain silent during the school day to show support for students who identity as homosexual, bisexual or transgender. If your child’s school has a Gay Straight Alliance Club (GSA), then your school will probably be holding a “Day of Silence.” GLSEN used to ‘proudly’ list all the schools that were participating on their website, but in recent years as pro-family groups like the AFA of PA have exposed GLSEN’s manipulation of public school students the lists have disappeared! So . . . what is your child really doing on Friday?
Action Steps
1.) The AFA of PA is part of a coalition of pro-family groups which is encouraging parents again this year to keep their children home from school that day. For more details and a sample letter to send to your principal, click here. Click here to find out what step one is.
2.) Also, click here to listen to my interview with Laurie Higgins discussing the dangers of the Day of Silence. Laurie is the Director of the Division of School Advocacy for the Illinois Family Institute, the Illinois AFA affiliate.
