AFA of PA ACTION ALERT
December 7, 2011 — Pearl Harbor Day
Issue
FDR’s D-Day Pray and the WW II Memorial
Details
Congressman Bill Johnson (R-OH) is the lead sponsor of HR 2070, the World War II Memorial Prayer Act of 2011. During a congressional hearing last month the Obama administration announced its objection to this bill which ” . . . direct(s) the Secretary of the Interior to install in the area of the World War II Memorial in the District of Columbia a suitable plaque or an inscription with the words that President Franklin D. Roosevelt prayed with the Nation on June 6, 1944, the morning of D-Day.” So . . . the President opposes this!
Robert Abbey, the director of the Bureau of Land Management, said any plaque or inscription of the prayer would “dilute” the memorial’s central message and therefore “should not be altered.”
Congressman Johnson told Fox News that the administration’s objection should “give all Americans a great deal of concern.” The AFA of PA totally agrees!
What better day to send a message to the White House than today – the day we set aside to reflect on the unprovoked Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor – as FDR called it a day which will live in infamy.
