Thank Chick-fil-A for Continuing to Stand Strong

Details

The end of last week liberal and pro-homosexual media erupted with the news the Chick-fil-A had reached an agreement with Chicago Alderman Joe Moreno and would cease donating to pro-family groups in exchange for permission to open a Chick-fil-A in Moreno’s district.  Their “celebration” was short-lived when the truth finally made it to the media and Chick-fil-A indicated there was no change in policy.

Throughout the attacks on Chick-fil-A, homosexual organizations have claimed the company has donated millions to “anti-gay” groups.  But what do their 990’s show?

In 2009, they gave donations of $1,733,699. Of this, $19,500 (about 1.1%) went to groups that might be called “political” or “anti-gay” (Focus on the Family, $12,500; Eagle Forum, $5,000; Exodus International, $1,000; Family Research Council, $1,000).

In 2010, they gave donations of $1,974,380. Of this, only $4,500 (about 0.2%) went to “anti-gay” or “political” groups (Exodus International, $1,000; Family Research Council, $1,000; Georgia Family Council, $2,500).

Add these together, and over a two-year period you have total donations of $3,708,079–of which only $24,000 (0.6%) went to arguably “anti-gay” or “political” groups.
