Homosexual Activists Call for the Removal of Rep Metcalfe – Sign Petition Supporting Him
During a House State Government Committee hearing on December 5th, committee chairman State Rep Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler) once again asked Democratic chair Matt Bradford (D-Philadelphia)not to touch him. You can watch the exchange here This contact had apparently become habitual and Rep. Bradford had been asked in the past to stop making physical contact with Rep. Metcalfe.
Homosexual activists are taking advantage of this exchange to further paint Representative Metcalfe as a “homophobic bigot.” The main reason for this targeting is he’s the most conservative member of the State House and has consistently refused to advance homosexual special rights bills in his committee. (Unlike current Republican gubernatorial candidate Scott Wagner who ushered a similar bill through his committee last year!)
What most news accounts ignore is the following exchange which NBC news did report:
“‘Like, if you want to touch somebody, you have people on your side of the aisle that might like it,’ Metcalfe added as Bradford, a Democrat whose district is outside Philadelphia, laughed. ‘I don’t.’
Another committee member, Rep. Brian Sims, who is the first openly gay state legislator in Pennsylvania, responded, ‘I do, I do,’ triggering laughter.”
Sims later blasted Metcalfe for “using legislative time, and tax payer dollars, to interrupt a meeting to announce his sexual orientation.”
The homosexual group Equality Pennsylvania, SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania, the PA Democratic Party and Governor Tom Wolf have asked Speaker of the House Mike Turzai to remove Representative Metcalfe from his chairmanship. This is not the first time leadership has been asked to remove Metcalfe from this position because they are determined to get someone in there who will succumb to pressure and advance homosexual special rights bills!
The AFA of PA has posted a petition in support of Representative Metcalfe that will be delivered to Speaker of the House Mike Turzai. We must take a stand and support elected officials who take a strong stand for morality. Click here to sign the petition.
