Attempts to Take Away Your Right to Fair Elections
Details
As the White House will double down on the need for “election reform,” the truth is it is an attempt to seize control of the voting process. Meanwhile, the Democrats in Congress have set a target date of Martin Luther King Jr. Day to get these bills passed. That’s just one week from today!
Currently three bills are being negotiated: HR 1, HR 4 and S 2747. None of these bills are any good and their ultimate goal is to create a one-party state. i.e. forbidding states to pass laws which require a photo ID in order to vote; forcing states to allow ballot harvesting; forcing states too expand mail-in voting; forcing states to allow automatic voter registration via drivers license centers, welfare agencies, university offices; same day voter registration; would forbid states to clean up their voter rolls and Section 1502 of HR 1 would ban state and local officials from preserving the record of paper ballots that make trustworthy post-election recounts and audits possible. There’s more, but you get the idea!!
HR 1, the misnamed For the People Act, passed in the US House on March 3, 2021 and HR 4, the John Lewis Voting Rights Act, passed in the US House on August 24, 2021. S 2747, The Freedom to Vote Act, was introduced by Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) on September 14, 2021. At this point, the only action taken on this bill was a failed cloture vote (49-51) on October 20, 2021. In a political move Senator Chuck Schumer voted ‘nay.’ Is he waiting for the even more radical HR 1 or HR 4??
Action Steps
Contact Senators Casey and Toomey and ask them to vote ‘Nay’ on HR 1 (For the People Act), HR 4 (the John Lewis Voting Rights Act) and S 2747 (the Right to Vote Act).
