Resolutions Supporting Texas in State House and Senate
Details
As the battle between the Biden Administration and the state of Texas intensifies, GOP-controlled states have stepped up in support of Texas. Some have even sent their National Guard down to help stop the flow of illegal immigrants crossing our border. Texas continues putting up razor wire, as Border Patrol continues cutting through it. Many Border Patrol agents have expressed frustration that the Biden Administration is not allowing them to do their job and enforce immigration law.
The Texas governor claimed the Lone Star State has the “constitutional authority” to defend itself against invasion since the federal government has “broken the compact between the United States and the States.”
Article II, Section 3 of the US Constitution says, in part, “(The President) shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.” It is quite clear, the current immigration laws are not being enforced!
The State House resolution, which will be introduced by State Rep Stephanie Borowicz, is “supporting the Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, who has expressed deep concern regarding the federal government’s failure to enforce immigration laws and protect the states, leading to record levels of illegal immigration.”
Several State Senators are also circulating a co-sponsorship memo that is “urging Governor Josh Shapiro to join with dozens of governors from across the country in support of Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s actions to protect our citizens and calling on President Biden and our federal officials to help secure our border and provide the needed policies and resources to protect American citizens and communities throughout this country from the effects of illegal immigration.”
