Bible is Hate Speech in Colorado; Coming to PA Soon

Details

Last week the Colorado Civil Rights Division ruled that it was okay for a Denver baker to turn down a request by a Christian to bake two cakes.   The story began in March 2014 when a Christian, William Jack, requested two cakes shaped like Bibles be baked by Azucar Bakery. One cake would have the image of two groomsmen holding hands in front of a cross with a red “X” over them and decorated with “God hates sin. Psalm 45:7” and “Homosexuality is a detestable sin. Leviticus 18:22.” The second cake would have the image of the two groomsmen with the red “X” and decorated with the words “God loves sinners” and “While we were yet sinners Christ died for us. Romans 5:8.” The owner of the bakery refused to bake the cakes because she viewed the messages as ‘hateful and offensive.”  Mr. Jack filed a complaint with the same Civil Rights office that decided last year that it was discriminatory for the Christian business owner of Masterpiece Cake in Lakewood, Colorado to refuse to bake the cake for a same-sex ‘wedding.”

So, this Civil Rights Division has ruled that Christian bakers cannot turn down a pro-homosexual “marriage” message, but a baker that supports same-sex “marriage” can turn down a pro-Biblical marriage message because it is hateful and bigoted.   By the way, Colorado has an “anti-discrimination” law that includes the words “sexual orientation” and that is what was used to sue Masterpiece Cake. Here in PA, if HB 300 or SB 30 is passed we will see the same type attacks against Christian business owners.

Governor Tom Wolf has stated he will use the fiasco in Indiana that took place over their Religious Freedom Restoration Act and push hard for passage of SB 300 and HB 300.
