Forensic Investigation in PA

Details

State Senator Doug Mastriano, chair of the Intergovernmental Operations Committee, has send letters to Philadelphia, Tioga and York Counties requesting information and materials needed to conduct a forensic investigation of the 2020 General Election and the 2021 Primary election.  They have until July 31st with a plan to comply.  If they don’t, Senator Mastriano says he has the votes in committee to send subpoenas to those counties which do not comply.   The Senator notes that another county has already contacted him and wants to be involved in a forensic audit.

As Senator Mastriano notes in an op-ed posted on his website:  “The Intergovernmental Operations Committee is a standing committee of the Pennsylvania State Senate with oversight and investigatory responsibilities regarding activities relating to or conducted between two or more governments or levels of government, including the administration of elections across the Commonwealth. As set forth in Pennsylvania Senate Rule 14 (d), each standing committee is empowered with the authority to inspect and investigate the books, records, papers, documents, data, operation, and physical plant of any public agency in this Commonwealth, including county boards of elections.” Read Senator Mastriano’s full op-ed piece  here

Action Steps

1.) Contact members of the Intergovernmental Operations Committee and ask them to support subpoenas into the counties which do not comply with Senator Mastriano’s letter requesting information and materials needed to conduct a forensic investigation.

2.) Contact your county election board and ask them to participate in a forensic investigation.

3.) Contact your State Senator and tell them you support an Arizona-style forensic investigation (audit) of the November 2020 General Election and the 2021 Primary Election.  Ask them to support one also.
