Is Paul Ryan the Man for the Job?
Details
After getting most of his demands met — the rule that allowed one House member to call for a vote to oust the Speaker is still in place — Paul Ryan said yes he’d run for Speaker of the House. The initial vote is expected to come tomorrow during a closed door session, with a final floor vote on Thursday. Here is some additional info on Paul Ryan:
- In 2001 voted for No Child Left Behind
- voted for the homosexual special rights bill — the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) in 2007
- In 2008, Ryan voted for the $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP)- the Wall Street bailouts.
- Last summer, he outlined a vision that included a pathway to citizenship, bolstered border security, and a fast-track to legal status for the children of illegal immigrants.
