Petition Opposing Oil City Area School District Sex Ed Curriculum

If you live in Oil City Area School District (OCASD), Oil City School Board candidate Devon Aaron has posted a petition opposing the reimplementation of the “We Care Elementary” and “Sexual Abuse Free Environment for Teens” (SAFE-T) curriculum. These had never received formal board approval, yet had been taught since 2021 to OCASD students! Both these were formally suspended by the board in March of this year, in order for a committee of teachers and administrators to look at the above-mentioned curriculum as well as others that were recommended. Guess what, the committee approved the “We Care Elementary” and “Sexual Abuse Free Environment for Teens”!
Tonight, October 23rd at 7:00 p.m. in the Administration Building (825 Grandview Road, Oil City) there will be a full board vote on whether to reinstate the “We Care Elementary” and “Sexual Abuse Free Environment for Teens” curriculum. This petition will also be presented to the board before the vote. Here’s the link to the petition.
Here’s a great video to watch concerning comprehensive sex ed and the dangers to kids who are exposed to it. The War on Children is a 35-minute video, but there is a shortened 10-minute version.
Action Steps
If you live in the Oil City Area School District, please sign the petition and attend tonight’s meeting if possible. If you don’t live in the OCASD, but know someone who does, please forward this alert to them. Additionally, check with your school district to see what curriculum they are using!
