Franklin’s Witch Walk

Details

Increasingly there are efforts to desensitize us – adults and children alike – to things that are dangerous and an affront to God.  Whether it be Drag Queen Story Hours or a Witch Walk in downtown Franklin, these are efforts to normalize things that are not normal!

Saturday, October 21st will be Franklin’s third Witch Walk.  According to The Derrick, it will include “pumpkin carving, local makeup and prosthetic artist Kaleb Lewis creating spooky characters, magic acts, spooky book readings and performances by the Emlenton Witch Dancers.”

According to the Franklin Area Chamber of Commerce webpage it will also include a “Witches Ball/Dance at Trails to Ale II”.    The Chamber is not sponsoring the event, but is advertising it because the sponsor, the Franklin Retail and Business Association, is a member.   According to Explore Venango, “There’s a scavenger hunt, games, magic shows, a book reading, a folklore storyteller” as well as “a sample tarot reading”.

Games, magic shows and a book reading will be specifically targeting kids!  This is yet another example of a “safe family-friendly” event that is NOT family friendly.  It is an effort to desensitize the public to the dangers of witches and the occult.    I only know of one church that has spoken out against it.  St. Patrick’s Church didn’t have all their facts straight initially, but they courageously publicly spoke out on social media.  Where are the other churches?   Has the Venango County Christian Ministerium offered a comment on the event?
